Location
Yellowstone Park, WY, heading towards the Lamar Valley.Time
End of day in the middle of winter, which would put it about 3pm.Lighting
It was overcast, and the sun was setting, so not much light.Equipment
Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi with a 200 prime lens, hand held! That, and a lot of warm camo gear!Inspiration
There was a small band of bull elk grazing in a field just off the main road. During the few days I got to travel through the park, I hadn't seen any bulls, and was excited to see these fellows. So, two other photographers and myself jumped out and quietly made our way over to where we thought they would end up wandering over to. And they did! We were out in that field for about two hours in 12 degree weather.Editing
