Behind The Lens

Location

This was actually taken near the entrance to the housing area I lived in; they were planted in front of the sign at the entrance.

Time

Had to have been mid-day. If I remember right, it would have been after lunch during nap time shortly after my first child was born and my wife was at home with her.

Lighting

All natural. :)

Equipment

Nikon DSLR with a Tokina wide angle. Laying down on the ground with the camera pointed slightly upwards. The Tokina had a great short range focal distance.

Inspiration

I've seen other photos online of "giant flowers" and thought with the height of the tulips it would work great for this shot.

Editing

I generally adjust brightness and contrast, with a slight adjustment on HSB.

In my camera bag

Nikon body, wide angle lens and a mid-range zoom (24-120). I may bring along the 70-200 depending on where I'm headed.

Feedback

Manual focus may be necessary; use your live view on your camera to make sure the flowers are in focus.
