Location
The last few days of our Florida vacation we headed for a Pompano Beach resort for easy beach access.Time
Shortly after dawn (and what an amazing, calm morning) I went strolling the beach, looking for inspiration.Lighting
Not much to share here, sun was low on the eastern horizon (to my left). I didn't think much about it.Equipment
I was using my daughter's Canon T3i with the standard 18-55 lens kit. We were both just learning how to use the camera and I was up earlier than she was 8=)Inspiration
I was taking all kinds of shots of the ocean, sun, etc. But when I noticed the trail of footprints along the water's edge I just had to capture it! It adds a story to the shot. Not sure who's, but it's there!Editing
I did some cropping to get the balance I wanted for the shot and adjusted the levels to avoid whiteouts as much as possible. But not much else was done.In my camera bag
I'm currently using a Canon SL2 with a couple different Canon lenses. I just upgraded my tripod and bought a few different lens filters to try - coloured filters, ND filters. Unfortunately, been too busy to do anything with them just yet, but I'm hoping to get some wonderful shots this winter when the snow comes to cover the ground. Florida will have to wait a year or two 8=(Feedback
Explore where you are. Find places where there is an abundance of nature with something that shows others have enjoyed the journey, like the footprints. Maybe it will be a snow covered slope with a trail from skis, or a calm sunset by the lake with the wake of a canoe or kayak. Just keep your eyes open and inspiration will come to you!
