Zaanse Schans, The Netherlands.
This was taken last week right after sunset. Zaanse Schans is a famous windmill village in the Netherlands that attracts many tourists. This spot has been photographed countless times, but this was my first time at this particular spot!
Shot with Sony A7II, Zeiss 16-35 FA, F5, ISO 320, 13 seconds. Had to manually hold the filter in front of the lens because I don't have my filter holder yet, that's why the settings were a bit weird

I’m going to say, your shots in all of our shared locations are either marginally better or a lot better, well done

Well yes. This photo has a really painted look. I had beautiful gradients in the sky that day making for this particular look. You still see some light shining on the side of the house, meaning the sun wasn't completely below the horizon. It was going down on the left.Equipment
Sony A7II, Zeiss 16-35, and I believe I used the Haida ND1000 filter.Inspiration
The place itself. While it's a tourist attraction, it can be quiet later in the evening. It's a photo you can see dozens of times online. However, this lighting is quite unique. I always try to capture scenes in the best possible way.Editing
Yes the sky was enhanced and the colours are exaggerated a lot to give it a painty/fairy tale look. I love popping colours and this photo is a great example of that.In my camera bag
1 or 2 Sony A7 bodies, a wide angle like the 16-35 (that is 90% on my camera) and a zoom like the 70-200 or a 135mm minolta prime. Other than that, some filters and batteries. I try to travel light!Feedback
determination. Shots like this require you to go to a spot multiple times sometimes. Watch the weather carefully. Light and timing is everything. This spot is not original. It's all about the timing and light.
