I tried to point my camera on the Milky Way but I see after the processing it formed Star Trails also, and the green stuff roaming around were the fireflies. I am so much happy with what nature can offer to me every time I approach her.

Interesting photo but have to agree with wildlifemoments, I think you over did this one a little bit - it just does not look right to me. Great creativity though!

Hey Matt, each artist has its own creativity. To which point you can say that I over processed it? Art is personal and it is the way I love and like my photo to be. I didn't not create it just to please others. I created it to please myself and if I pleased myself along the process then that was the point I stop processing it. Art is self serving you know. We made photos because we feel to make it and love to make it. If you would think that you made it for others then you will not have satisfaction and you cannot get the soul of your subject. When I did take this photo i let my camera to click until I got satisfied and when I processed it I saw that i can form star trails too. So why limit my imagination to one certain point when in fact the field is so robust for me to expand my creativity? I submitted it to contest and I leave the decision to the judges. If it wins, it wins, and if it does not suit to the standpoint of those judges then let it be.

I do like edits that contain both star trails and a sharp Milky Way. They're fun and unique. eqatorial star trails looking SW, like this are my favorite. The opposing curves really create a lot of interest. What really surprises me is the fireflies. They're so rare in the desert. What time of year did you do this?

NatureLoverJJWal
January 29, 2016
It was winter, and i did not notice it until I uploaded and I was really thinking OMG what is this? then I look at the Raw files and I really captured it!. What happened was I left the camera to do its own job and do something with my other camera. especially there less fogs. I don't have problem on defogging my lens!
