Location
This was taken in the roof garden that most of my photos are taken in...I like the light there.Time
It was about 2:00pm. I remember this because the baby whose hand is featured being very premature was coming from a medical appointment and I asked her mother could I take the photo after this.Lighting
As with a lot of days in Northern Ireland it was overcast with a bit of sun peeking through.Equipment
Just a Nikon 1 V1 hand held. I took about five photos and this was the best one.Inspiration
About a year and a half before this, my daughter had been expecting twins and, sadly, Cillian, one of them died in the traumatic birth. I had wanted to take a photo that somehow represented this. Its about the beginning of life and the end of life.Editing
The photo was shot in colour and I changed it to black and white in Photoshop. As simple as that.In my camera bag
Nikon D7200, Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 macro lens,16-80mm lens.Feedback
Its hard to say. My motives were the sadness and grief I felt and it had been on my heart for some time. The need to take a photo like this spurred me on to find a moment like this and when I was sure that this was what I wanted...well...I took it.
