Went out looking for something that would represent Memorial Day in a unique way. What I found was this weather-battered chair on a pier with the American flag billowing out in the wind. Instantly, my thoughts went to those who gave their lives in combat so that I could take this walk and shot this image. It is called "Battle-worn" because if you look close, you can see all the "scars" from past seasons. They represent the battle wounds our soldier have had, past and present, physical or mental. Thank you just doesn't seem enough.
