Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was shot during a stroll at a really beautiful path located near the village "Milies" (Volos, Thessaly, Greece). I was overwhelmed by the vividness of the pink and purple tones on the petals of these flowers, so having already my Canon in hand, it did not take me long to end up with a click.

Time

This shot was taken during midday. I had lots of natural light spread all over the place, so I took advantage of it shooting with no extra equipment.

Lighting

The only thing that I had in mind before shooting this photo was to set the light metering to spot metering, while the only thing that mattered to me was to have the necessary lighting onto these two flowers in focus.

Equipment

The equipment used for this shot was my Canon 700D, handheld, with the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM. No other equipment was used.

Inspiration

I was really inspired and captivated by the amazing vividness of the colors, especially the pink and purple ones, so it did not take me long to end up with a click.

Editing

In this case, I did the post-processing on Photoshop CS6, for correcting the white balance and boosting up the contrast a little.

In my camera bag

I normally have with me the following: - A Canon 700D - A Manfrotto 190 XPRO 3 with an MHXPRO-BHQ2 ball head - A Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM - A Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM - A Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM - A Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II (with a Diffuser)

Feedback

Focus correctly on your subject, and take the shot.
