Behind The Lens

Location

Above my house in Lanark Scotland.

Time

About 9.30 PM

Lighting

Where I live there is very little light pollution as I live in the country. So I would say in terms of taking night time shots, like this one can only be an advantage.

Equipment

My camera is a Canon Power Shot SX 40 HS. I was holding the camera on free hold no tripod or filters were used, the aperture was set at f/5.8 the ISO was 100 and the exposure was 1/400.

Inspiration

I would say that I am like most people I am very much fascinated by the moon, and this particular moon was a blood red moon which do not come along all that often .Also living in Scotland decreases your chances of taking a great photo of the moon, because a high proportion of skies are overcast. therefore even when a half chance comes along to photograph the moon in particular when the skies are clear you must take it.

Editing

none

In my camera bag

A mixture of both micro and filter lenses,Battery packs,

Feedback

To maximize your chances for taking a high quality image of the moon you may require to travel to an area with the least amount of light pollution, also use a tripod and if possible take the photo on a clear night. If you are fortunate and able to take a photo set within these conditions you will not be disappointed.
