In my rear gardenTime
It was late afternoon and I noticed a flutter of blue in my peripheral vision, I knew that I was looking at something very special also very rare. After some research my bird encyclopedia states the Jay is a very shy bird and may venture into dense woodlands or large gardens and will not stay for very long periods at a time in the one area.Lighting
no it was a clear day and camera was set for a clear sunny day also was also set on autoEquipment
camera only I used the telescopic lens.Inspiration
Well this was the first time I ever saw a Jay Bird,I never even knew what kind of bird it was. So as you can appreciate I was very exited, I ran for my camera and took this shot. I then immediately down loaded the picture onto my laptop and checked my bird book encyclopedia to discover it was a Jay Bird.I honestly thought this bird had escaped from a near by zoo or aviary. After all I have been taking photos of wildlife for many years and this was the very first time I had ever set eyes on this outstanding Jay Bird.Editing
To show a closer image I cropped the picture. In my camera bag
In this particular case I required only the camera.Feedback
you must be patient and try to get as close to your subject as possible, for example I have put together a small hide covered with green plastic and I put some food or feeders close by and cut a small hole in the front of the hide just enough for my telescopic lens to fit through and I have taken a few great shots. But for this photo snap the shot was taken through a double glazed window at the back of my home.
