The wonderful view of the lake and its foliage along with the broken sunset leads beautifully into that band of almost silhouetted treeline that is tinted gracefully by a superb sunset! Lovely shot and a great first image! Welcome to Viewbug and will look forward to future stunning photography!

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Bagan, Myanmar

Time

It was getting to dusk and at our hotel there is a lake that has some of the many thousands of temples in the area as a backdrop to the lake. It was so still and the setting sun on the water was just beautiful and spent the time taking many photos until it was dark.

Lighting

The light intensified and the colour on the water and the lily pads reflecting the setting sun was stunning and took many photos. The light continually changed until darkness took over.

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS 5D without a tripod and held the camera as still as I could to minimise shake and used ISO100 on F/8.

Inspiration

I love this time of day and watching how quickly the light changes. I saw a pair of ducks on the water and wanted to capture them just as they passed through the setting sun. It was such a peaceful setting.

Editing

No post processing was done at all

In my camera bag

I have 3 lenses that I like to use which are the 24-70mm, 70-200mm and the 200-400mm. I am a pretty basic photographer and don't have a lot of bells and whistles!

Feedback

Just experiment with different settings and enjoy the magic of dusk
