Location
This image was taken just past the end of my street. Joshua Tree National Park can be seen in the background as a late winter storm builds over head and the sun just starting to set.Time
I took this on 1-31-15 just before the sun set. My favorite time of the day to take a stroll through the desert with my camera.Lighting
Dawn & dusk are key moments every landscape photographer loves.Equipment
This was shot with the Nikon D5100 (manual mode) iso100 1/60. Lens 18-55 at 32mm f/8 handheld no flash.Inspiration
The shadows are what caught my eye at first as the Joshua tree appeared to be reaching for the warm golden light wanting to escape the approaching storm.Editing
Yes, I use Aperture and Nik Collection. I adjusted the contrast and used levels along with sharpening and noise reduction on this image. In my camera bag
That's a brave question to ask a woman lol. Everything from.. gaffers tape to bottled water. My favorite piece of equipment.. my Sekonic L-758dr light meter. Two Nikon bodies d5100 & d7200, two kit lens and a 70-300mm.Feedback
I guess I would have to say, patience. Waiting for that perfect storm because we all know lighting is key and the most powerful tool we use.
