Behind The Lens

Location

St Johns Marsh in Clay township ( Algonac) Michigan

Time

early morning 9:30 late April of 2012

Lighting

A cloudy overcast day. Calm winds.

Equipment

Kodak point and shoot camera that I've since given to my daughter.

Inspiration

I belong to the Blue Water Shutterbug Camera Club (www.bwshutterbugs.org) in Michigan and the monthly challenge category was nature. This guy was close to the area feeding and I was fortunate enough to be there also. I have since take pleasure in shooting nature any chance I get, plants, insects ,or even Zoo animals as long as they look like they are in their natural habitat.

Editing

I did some post-processing on the computer with windows. A little cropping and color adjustment.

In my camera bag

I have since up-graded to a Cannon Rebel T3 with a standard lens and a 300mm one and a Teleplus Pro 300 for distance in hope of capturing those further shots.

Feedback

Sometimes being at the right place, right time is a blessing but patience pays off for shooting wildlife. Remember try not to agitate the wild life because they tend not to come back to the area so a quick shot is sometimes good enough. Yes this guy did come back to feed in this spot.
