Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on my way to work in East China, Michigan.

Time

The day was sunny about 8:30 in the morning. A tree was blocking my normal route so I took a side road. When the screech owl moved into place , the movement caught my eye. I had my camera with me because I just joined a camera club and one thing they stressed always have your camera on you, you never know when that moment presents itself.

Lighting

The sun offered a soft light and not to harsh to was out the subject. The owl was catching some warm rays on that February morning.

Equipment

My first digital camera .A Eastman Kodak P850 Digital Camera, Yes, a Point and shoot camera.

Inspiration

Right place right time. I have never seen an owl in the area before and I so glad I was at the right place right time.

Editing

The picture was cropped in Windows Photo Gallery. Remember I was a very new beginner.

In my camera bag

Today after a few cameras gone by I use a FujiFilm XT-1. with a 18-55 lens ,a 55-200 lens and a 100-400 with a doubler . I have gotten inspired to take nature pictures thanks to this first experience of the screech owl.

Feedback

Patience because nature doesn't wait for you, you must wait for nature. Get out and shoot. You never know when that perfect time will be and it will not be sitting around wishing should have , could have!!!
