We had gone her for a picnic and then we were walking around. We knew sunset was very near and when we saw the sailboat my husband and I knew we wanted to get the sailboat and the two people on the sailboat in this shot. My husband is a photographer as well. We grabbed our gear and started shooting as the colors were just gorgeous. It was not hard.Equipment
I used an Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi and a Tamron 75-300 mm Tele-Macro lense. I don't recall what tripod I had then as I have a different one now. The only lenses I used was a UV lens.Inspiration
The sailboat with the two people on it watching the sunset and the absolutely beautiful colors is what inspired me.Editing
I didn't do any post-processing on it. It is one of the best shots I have ever done!In my camera bag
I normally have my Canon 18-55mm lenses and my Tamron 75-300 mm Tele-Macro lense. I carry a Circular Polarizer filter as well as a UV filter. I also have my remote and a Bogen Tripod.Feedback
The Pacific Northwest has some spectacular sunsets on the water in the summer. I try to always have a camera with me so I can be ready for when these shots show up. It was a matter of being at the right place at the right time and if you are prepared you will not miss these great shots. I took several shots so I had some choices to pick from as the sunset happened.
