The photograph taken in abandoned small village beside Emirates National Auto Museum, located about one hour drive south of Abu Dhabi, on the E65 road to Liwa Oasis, UAE.Time
It was midday, I was waiting for my friends to arrive so we all could go to the Car Museum. So I decided to explore surroundings, and this is what I found!Lighting
This abandoned village has few buildings, and entrance covered from direct sunlight which was showing rich texture and details on this door.Equipment
I used Canon EOS 5D Mark II with EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM, hand held, no flash. Settings: Aperture value:Æ’/5.0 Focal distance: 135.0 mm Shutter speed:1/200 ISO 320Inspiration
I know that old doors are "keepers of history" and could be interesting story hidden behind it, and this particular door had a lot of interesting elements so there was no chance I will walk away without taking the photograph.Editing
I usually do postprocessing using Adobe Lightroom (for this one I chose to use sepia mood) and final touches such as little of details sharpening did after export in Adobe Photoshop. In my camera bag
It depends on the subject I am going to shoot, but most of the cases I have with me my Canon 5D Mark II, 2 lenses: 24-70 f.2.8, and 70-200mm f.4, extra battery, 3-4 memory cards, remote control, small fash light, portable tripod.Feedback
Find the angle from where you will see the texture clearly. Don't be afraid to put high ISO, I believe such oldish look in photo will only win from some noise (I didn't have to do it in the lighting conditions I was at, but if I needed more light, I will do so). Most difficult is to find some authentic subject to photograph! Good luck haunting!
