The photo was taken at Fairhaven Woodland Gardens which is in Norfolk, England. This is one of the local places of interest near the Norfolk Broads. It has beautiful woodland walks and a boat trip on the broad.Time
This was taken early afternoon in late summer. While walking along the woodland path I spotted the bright red colour against the brown floor almost hidden by the pieces of trees that had fallen.Lighting
Being in a woodland the lighting was subdued but there were beams of sunlight breaking through the canopy in places. The sunbeam fell on the red of the fungi highlighting it against the dark flooring.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS350D digital camera. I increased the ISO to 400 and speed was 1/100, the aperture f7.1. To get the shot I laid flat on the floor to get a level shot and hand held the camera.Inspiration
It looked like a fairy toadstool from a fairy story and I felt compelled to capture this.Editing
No post processing! Just a pure photo. In my camera bag
I have (now) a Canon SOS 7D Mark ll, a Tamron 18 - 270km, a Canon 70 - 300 L, and a Tamron 90mm macro.Feedback
Go with your feeling, even if you have to shoot from a strange angle or position. Think out of the box, and use your imagination!
