Beautiful! I want to be there right now and leave all the cold and snow behind!

Taken after sunset right at the end of blue hour around 10:15pmLighting
There wasn't much light because it was a night shot, but that orange you see at the skyline is from the distant city lights.Equipment
Nikon D600 with a Samyang 14mm f/2.8 and a Sirui T-2005X tripodInspiration
The light from the neighboring campsite inspired the photo. I saw how the lights from their lanterns were lighting up the surrounding trees so I went down to the water and captured this photo.Editing
I processed in lightroom and photoshop to bring out the shadows and colors. In my camera bag
I typically shoot with a Nikon D600. For night shots like this I exclusively use my Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lens. I also carry the following lenses: Nikon 24-85mm, Nikon 70-300mm, Tokina 17-35mm f/4Feedback
Go camping! When you get out of the city the night sky is more interesting and light from neighboring campsites provide extra interesting light to add to the scene. In this image the campsite light is from a lantern because there was a fire ban on due to dry weather, but I have also had good luck with images taken where a campfire is lighting objects at night.
