Location
This was taken during a Balloon Festival in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was called High On Kalamazoo Hot Air Balloon Fest.Time
This was taken during the late afternoon balloon launch as balloons lay on their side and get ready to inflate. This is the top called Crown of the hot air balloon which holds the hot air in the balloon when it stands up and during flight.Lighting
This particular hot air balloon crown was facing the setting sun (sunset was behind me).Equipment
I used my Canon EOS DSLR with a short lens. No tripod and no flash since I like to keep moving for the ever changing scene during a mass hot air balloon launch.Inspiration
I love hot air balloons and the colors they are made of. Patterns play a big part of the balloon envelope since they are made of small pieces of lightweight fabric that are sewn together.Editing
No really any post processing except I did crop image to center it visually. In my camera bag
I always carry a 18-55mm short lens and a longer telephoto lens like a 75mm-250mm. I always take my Canon EOS, if traveling I take both Canons. I have a Canon EOS that I started with few years ago but recently upgraded to the T6I Canon. Depending where I am going I will take a tripod along.Feedback
Best photos I have taken have been early or late in the day when the sun is low in sky. Look for patterns in even the most ordinary things, or think of a different way to document something. This helps create interest in the image and fun sometimes trying to figure out what it is.
