Mr Jingles is our rescue or like I tell people he rescued us. We took him inside our home when winter arrived. Nights were too cold for him and decided he needed a place to live. So we opened the front door and in he came. He now owns pretty much all the chairs including the sofa. P.S. end of May Mr Jingles passed away leaving an empty place in my heart. We may only had him for few months but he was loved and he loved back. He died with dignity having a home which he did not have year ago living in the wild.

There were many excellent entries in my challenge. What captured my attention on this photograph was not only the compelling framing of this photo but also the crispmess even tho the ISO was 1600. Can you comment on how you achieved noise reduction?

I was using the natural light from the snow reflection outside the window to the right plus a low flash setting. I had my longer lens on so it did cause the ISO to be higher than if I had used my typical shorter lens for portrait.. My camera tends not to get as much noise as I would see with like a 3200. Also I was very close to the subject barely working within the range of the lens.

Location
Indoors near our large picture window.Time
It was late afternoon in February just after a snowfall.Lighting
There were nature light coming in from the right which was enhanced from the recent snow reflection on the ground.Equipment
Canon T6i with a light flash and telephoto lens.Inspiration
It was a fun afternoon trying to capture that 1 unique image to remember my fur friend Mr Jingles. He was ill and knew that he would not be around forever. He was sitting atop his cat tower looking out the big window watching the world go by. I wanted to be spontaneous and wanted a nature reaction from him since he was not real fond of cameras.Editing
I did use my photoshop to crop the image to highlight his eye.In my camera bag
I own Canon eos T6i, telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, and also a 40mm pancake lens. I do carry at times a external flash and tripod when traveling.Feedback
I used external light to augment the lighting plus a longer lens to add a shallower depth of field bringing the focus on the eye in the image. I love to try to use natural light as much as I can but will use a fill flash to help bring out the image. Getting to know the subject as in this case my cat I knew his dislikes such as cameras. So I came into the room very quietly and came from behind and caught the image as he turned his head toward me before he time to think about the camera. I got his most natural face and personality as I know him. Getting face to face at his eye level helps me get more focus his eye. I took this near a large window using that light from the side to help define the right side.
