Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot in Nassau, Bahamas located in South Beach of the island.

Time

During the early morning hours of sunrise around 7:00am this shot found it's place in my view finder.

Lighting

The lighting at the time was a bright, more of a morning golden hour natural light, which gave the clouds a rim of light around the edges and helped to achieved a beautiful silhueete in the reflections.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D7000, kit lens with kit lens 18-105mm.

Inspiration

The cloud's formation in the sky and the sunrise that glowed behind it really caught my attention and reminding me of many other wonderful photographs I've viewed thus inspiring me to capture something as beautiful with a different or if not similar perspective.

Editing

Yes, I did post process the reds and yellows or the sun tones. And because I am a big fan of contrast I gave it a bit of both on the reflection and sky. The edges of the clouds form were really eye catching and by adding a high pass filter helped me to pop it out more.

In my camera bag

My equipment's are always my Nikon D7000, Sigma 8-16mm, Nikon 80-200mm and a Nikon 50mm.

Feedback

My advice would to to always take a tripod with you that can go lower than you. My reason for this was mainly from my experience with this photo because at the time I did not bring my tripod a long and getting really low was very difficult, if I could have went lower the symmetry in this reflection with the sky would of been even more amazing.
