Wonderful picture. I love the choice of shutter speed.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Nassau, Bahamas, West Bay Beach.

Time

Around 7:55pm just before sunset.

Lighting

The lighting was perfect because of the overcast that occurred during an approaching storm. I was able to capture much more tones in the sky and sea thus exposing the colors from the sunset perfectly.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 Sigma 8-16mm Ball head Tripod

Inspiration

I was inspired to capture this image from viewing many sceneries from various photographers. More so because the waves and clouds that appeared that day, it was something that I rarely get to see here in The Bahamas.

Editing

Yes I did. Using photoshop and compose multiple layers of exposures in one photo to create an evenly expose photo. Then after combing all layers in one I began to adjust the tones of the clouds, sea, and waves using the multiple layers masks such as saturation, curves, levels and color balance.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7000 Nikon D610 Nikon 50mm f1.4 Nikon 80-200mm f4 manual Nikon 35mm f1.8 Sigma 8-16mm f4.5 Rokinon 85mm f1.4 manual

Feedback

Yes, if you're trying to capture something similar I'll suggest to always carry a tripod with you and use it to your full advantage. Capture as many exposures as possible in raw and never forget to carry a wide angle lens with you.
