In this photo wonderful synchronous splashes where caused by droplets of water from the cave roof hitting the free surface below creating symmetric forms that I think resemble liquid stalagmites.
This photo was taken with the camera nearly level with the cave floor, the photographer kneeling in water. Distance of camera from the splashes was at most 6 inches.
