Behind The Lens
Location
Taken in a zoo in England some time ago now.Time
It was late morning on a bright but cool day.Lighting
Only natural lighting was used here. Obviously I was limited by the enclosure lay out but the tamarin came to the center of the enclosure into a great position, the light was just right in those few minutes for me to capture the shot!Equipment
Canon 600d was my camera. No tripod or flash and the lens was my Tamron 70-300 at approximately 125mm.Inspiration
I'm an animal person and love the personalities you can capture from them. I'll spend most of my spare time watching animals if I can and usually with a camera in hand.Editing
Not a great deal was done to this image. A little boost in contrast and a slight vignette and the image was ready for me to upload. I don't like a great deal of processing as it isn't something I'm particularly good at and there's a huge amount of pleasure for me in taking an image that doesn't require any editing. In my camera bag
Canon 600d, canon 50m 1.8, canon 18-55 kit lens, tokina 11-18 mm for my landscapes. Lots of memory cards and a small collection of filters. Mainly ND and ND grad.Feedback
Animal wildlife/ animal photography is all about patience and look. Set up your settings and gear for the desired result and then adapt it slightly if needs be. I usually meter and adjust my settings then wait for the animal and position the shot then. It's always better to capture something even if it isn't perfect as you can learn from the last shot!
