Location
This photograph was taken in Bournemouth Gardens.Time
Mid afternoonLighting
The sun was shining bright, but the tree canopy above was like a diffuser helping to stop the harsh light coming through.Equipment
I used my Canon 1Ds MKii and my Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8. It was shot wide open.Inspiration
I thought the flowers looked nice and i hadn't seen many of them before. I searched for a single flower with nothing in the foreground/background to distract it. As i only had the 120-300mm on me at the time, i used it to my advantage, throwing the background out of focus and giving lovely shallow depth of field.Editing
Some contrast tweaks and saturation. In my camera bag
Depends on what i'm going to shoot. It could be my 1Ds MKii + 17-35mm + 120-300mm or my Pentax K5iis + 8mm fisheye + 100mm Macro.Feedback
I found that using a tele lens for this achieved some good results, shooting wide open gave it the dreamy bokeh kind of look.
