This is a great composition John, something I've been trying with not a great deal of success. The 3 circles of light are the only thing I find distracting, still I wish I had taken it, lol.

Hi Ron, thank you for your comment. I do beleive i shot this with the nikkor 24-70mm, a lovely lens, but is prone to flare. I got rid of quite a lot in post but those three had to stay as i am not so good at removing it haha

The time of day was a frosty morning, May 2nd 2016.Lighting
The natural lighting during this occasion, is what gave the image its mystical look. As the sun rose higher, the mist dispersed more, so time was not on our side. But the sun still managed to produce beautiful light rays, piercing the cold, damp mist.Equipment
I used my Nikon D810 body, with a borrowed Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 G. These were sat upon my rock solid Sirui N-3004x tripod/K30 head. To help even out the exposure, I used a 150x100mm Zomei ND Grad filter with 0.9 strength. A cable release helped me to capture the shots without using a timer and free of any shake.Inspiration
Micheldever woods has been a popular location due to the amount of bluebells. After years of seeing shots from this stunning place, i felt it was time to head there and get one for myself.Editing
Because this image is a panoramic, post processing did take place. Firstly, I remove CA and tick the lens profile box to remove distortion/vignette. After that, any adjustments such as reduction in highlights or adding contrast will happen. for added oomph, I used Nik Colour Effex, this always gives a pleasing result when used appropriatley.In my camera bag
My own equipment is always growing. It used be my Pentax K5iis plus a variety of lenses, later i added a Canon 1Ds mk2, 50mm f/1.4, tamron 17-35mm and sigma 120-300mm, but now all that has gone and i have moved to the D810 with a Laowa 15mm, nikkor 50mm 1.8, Sigma 180mm macro, sigma 150-600mm Sport and my newest camera, the Sony RX10iii.Feedback
Make sure to arrive in plenty of time. We travelled from Falmouth in Cornwall, leaving at midnight, to reach the location with at least 2 hours to spare. Micheldever was a new area for us, so finding the right place to shoot took a while! Preperation is key for this type of thing, because you'll be kicking yourself if you know you could have got an amazing shot but you were not prepared for it!
