I took this photo at my local river, The Frome in Wareham in Dorset UK.Time
This was shot during the hours of sunset.Lighting
It was very overcast, perfect really for what i wanted to be doing. The light was fairly low.Equipment
I shot this with my gripped Pentax K5iis, kit lens @18mm, my Manfrotto 055xPROB tripod and my wireless remote. To achieve the long exposure i also used my hoya NDX400 9stop filter.Inspiration
The weather. I looked out my bedroom window and saw that it was quite cloudy and windy, so i grabbed my gear together and went to shoot.Editing
I increased the shadow details and reduced the highlights to bring out detail within the bright areas. Gave it some contrast.In my camera bag
I always have my K5iis gripped, 100mm Macro f/2.8 WR, 50mm f/1.7, and my 18-55mm. My 8mm Samyang is occasionally in.Feedback
Wait for that perfect windy/cloudy day, find a really great location, make sure to have some ND's and a remote. Experiment with your exposure times, be patient, have fun and enjoy.....and be spontaneous!
