“The Path Less Taken”
McCullough Gulch
Breckenridge, Colorado

The path less taken leads through an Aspen tree stand up to a beaver pond and the old homestead of the lonely miner, who made this trail in the late 1800’s with his mule and horse. This is a shot that I have been documenting over 15 years and this is one of my favorite spots to shoot. This is one of my top sellers and also one of my favorites.

One of my personal projects is to document the environment through years of repeat visits. New photographs of this site each year show the impact of beavers in their never-ending quest to build better homes and dams. Most of the Aspen pictured here are now gone. Can we ever learn anything from our little industrious friends, the beaver? Probably not, but lets not lose hope.
