Location
This photo was taken on the west side of the Albert st bridge in my hometown Regina, sk.Time
I was out driving around 6pm when I crossed the bridge and saw the sun just starting to set.Lighting
I just went with the natural light from the sun starting to set. It made for wonderful reflections and a kind of magical moodEquipment
The image was shot with a Canon 70D, with a Canon 24-105 f4 L lens, on a tripod. No other equipment was needed.Inspiration
I always find myself just driving around aimlessly looking for a new spot to take a photo. When I crossed the bridge and saw the colors in the water and surrounding area I just had to stop and take it.Editing
I wanted to do an HDR image using 7 exposures which I combined using Photomatix. Then I imported the image to light room. It was a raw image so I had to tone down the highlights and noise, do some cropping and add some clarity and vibrance. In my camera bag
I carry everything with me. My 70D, flash, tripod, extra batteries. A 50mm prime, canon 24-105L, 18-250.Feedback
I live in Saskatchewan so the weather changes quite often and drastically. One minute it's sunny and warm and the next it's cold and raining. I guess patience and getting out at the right time will definitely help for a similar image, and being able to put up with birds swooping at you or have mosquitos constantly trying to make you a snack
