Location
This photo has been taken at Berkeley Kite festival. It is annual kite festival - very spectacular event with thousands of kites of different types. It covers all range from giant octopuses (on the photo) to kite ballet...Time
The picture was made around 1PM.Lighting
The picture was made under very hard sun light (there was no clouds at all). That made very contrast shadow on the ground.Equipment
I used Nikon D700 with ultra wide Sigma 14mm 2.8 lens.Inspiration
I was mesmerized by colorfulness of those kites, but from this point it looked like dozens of flying aliens ...Editing
Nothing special to write about. Just little playing with basic settings...In my camera bag
I usually have one "long" lens (70-200), midrange (35-70) and ultra wide. Now, I replaced my Sigma 14mm to Nikon 16mm fisheye.Feedback
I often going for "one lens" shots. When I am going to such crowded events mounting ultra wide or fisheye lens is always fun. It mobilizes me to very specific pattern of thinking. (Yeah, often I need to get very close (too close) to object, but it always pays off.
