Location
This was taken at my house in the living room makeshift studio.Time
It was taken in the afternoon, however since it's indoors it doesn't really matter.Lighting
I had three diffuser panels usually used to diffuse light in offices, they are put on the ceiling to help spread the light from fluorescent tubes. I had them standing up vertically and rigged to act as background for the model. Behind them I had two 580 ex2 flashes shooting at full power and spaced out so that the light wouldn't be too focused once they hit the panels and it would spread out. I liked the white light quality and also the texture of the panels that make for a very cool background. In front of the model I had an alien bee's ring flash on the camera lighting the model.Equipment
I used the Canon 5D mark 2 camera with the 24-105mm f4 L lens, and two 580ex2 Speedlights and one AlienBee's ring flash. I didn't use any tripods, I did use some silver colored cardboard paper on the floor to help bounce the light onto the model as well as create a cool floor area for her to sit on.Inspiration
I wanted to take some art nude photos that look very angelic in nature and also wanted to try the cool light diffusion panels that I bought from the do it yourself type of store. The model is kind of short so I knew if she sat down she'd be able to fit in the height of the panels. She was also very good at posing very gracefully so this would make the photo very elegant even though she's nude. I also asked her to put baby oil on herself so she would look as if she's shining in the bright light.Editing
I did some basic Photoshop post-processing as well as made sure the background is merged properly at the edges of the three light diffusion panels. In my camera bag
Different equipment for different reasons, I carry one camera and 1-2 lenses for street photography, and one camera and 2-3 lenses, flashes, diffusers, tripod etc... for model photo shoots.Feedback
Be creative with light, try to use anything you can think of to shoot through with flashes, or to bounce light off, since light can be bounced from almost any reflective surface. Work with a good model that's experienced with posing and is very professional and open to trying new ideas and concepts.
