Thanks! Tricky figuring out how everything works around here, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Both mine love water and seek it out whenever they can (preferable to mud, which my girl LOVES!)

This photo was mostly one of wonderful opportunity :) The dogs pictured are mine and had just been cavorting around in the water. I had my shutter speed set pretty high to capture that motion when suddenly they both stopped to look at me (I was using a zoom lens and back a ways) and in those few brief seconds I snapped this. As the sun was at their backs I had a bit too much shadow on their faces, but post-processing (lightroom) helped me to correct that.Equipment
Nikon D3100 (my super light, knock-around personal use camera)/Nikkor zoom lensInspiration
The light, their expressions, even the positions of their bodies (so indicative of their personalities)Editing
Yep! As mentioned above, I used Adobe lightroom to lighten the shadows. In my camera bag

Patience. In animal photography, I find it best not to 'pose' them; instead, let them do what comes natural to them and/or the situation and you do the work of positioning yourself where the light is best to capture what you're looking for.
