I took this photo right outside my house, on a heavy downpour day.Time
It was actually midday, even though you can't really tell since the original photo was also gloomy and dark. However, the SOOC photo had a high contrast as well, there was barely any tweaking with this photo except converting it to monochrome.Lighting
Not exactly, this is pure natural light, contrast is caused by white sky due to rainy day.Equipment
My Olympus E-PL3 with Helios 44m-4 lens. No additional equipment.Inspiration
This was really a very random photo. I remember how foul of a mood I was having that day. This is probably a reflection of my moodiness that day.Editing
As mentioned before, just a light contrast boost with conversion to monochrome. In my camera bag
My camera (obviously!), my Helios and Minolta lens and my Bosch tripod.Feedback
This is basically all about timing. I captured a small million of these photos and came up with the best. Shoot as many frames as possible, since this could be considered some sort of high speed photography. Obviously you want to find a small puddle like this to be able to capture. Keep track of the lighting, adapt to the direction the light is taking (even if it's an overcast day there is still direction to light, the thing is that it's diffused).
