Thank you JF. Because they were all three there at the same time. I couldn't resist. :)

Looks like a wonderful salad, or gourmet presentation. Everything is where's it needs to be. I like it.

Hi and thank you for enjoying this image. This photo was taken at our local butterfly ranch where they raise monarch butterflies to keep the species going. My watermark adds the name Bellah which is what I named my camera back then.Time
This was taken at or around 2:00 that day in the middle of AugustLighting
The lighting was a hard lighting but allowed for interesting shadowsEquipment
I used my Nikon D90Inspiration
I often find myself enjoying the beauty of butterflies especially monarch butterflies. Our local butterfly ranch allows us to come and enjoy seeing the process and growth from caterpillar to butterfly and capture images of them as they flutter around. I have spent many days out in the mountains around me capturing images of this amazing creature but being able to do less climbing and more images of the butterfly was awesome.Editing
On this particular image I mostly did a little cropping, and a touch of sharpening but this one came out so clear I really didn't find a need to do much post-processing.In my camera bag
Normally I have at least 3 lens with me, water (because I do a lot of hiking about, my camera cleaning kit, and that is it. Well also a protein bar because I am diabetic and need to keep from my sugar lowering.Feedback
First I would say bring your patience because butterflies only stay still for a very short time and this shot actually took me over an hour to get. You need to have a decent macro lens, be comfortable in shooting manual instead of automatic as that will bring out more of your choice of the shot. comfortable shoes as you will be standing for a while. Some might bring a tripod but that is up to you. With hard lighting you need a lens cover but if you don't have one use a big hat on your head to help with shade. Be prepared to snap many photos as you may only get one or two that really work. I think I took 200 photos of butterflies that day. Have fun with what you are doing leave the stress and pressure out of the day. Put your settings where you think it will work before you start taking photos that will help you to save time.
