Location
This photo was taken last year just below Mount Shasta in California in October 2022. My fiance took me on a lovely ride to see Mount Shasta (which is a beautiful mountain) and the lakes around there. Shasta is an absolutely gorgeous area!Time
This was taken around 3:00 PM. We basically spent all day at different sections below Mount Shasta hiking about and we stopped here for a rest.Lighting
The lighting was a little harsh because it was hazy out that day. Happily, we were up high enough that we were above the haze for the most part. I loved that there were still enough shadows happening to add to the image and soften it a little.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7500 with my zoom lens. No tripod or flash.Inspiration
Mount Shasta area is inspirational in itself, so I was already inspired. I loved the half circle around the tree standing by itself, and I connected with it. I saw myself as the tree and my family and friends around me but at a distance, just supporting me.Editing
Usually, I do a lot of post-processing with my landscape photos but not this one. Not even a crop! It was exactly the way I wanted it to look fresh out of the camera. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D7500 with me, even if I go 2 miles into town. I have at least 3 of my lens with me for different situations. Soft cloth towels, a camera blower, a lens brush, and a treat to keep me going (I am diabetic). Of course, I always have my business cards :)Feedback
My best advice is to take the shot from different angles, even from the ground up. Take at least 10 or more shots from different angles to see what works the best since we are in the digital age; we no longer have to worry about the cost of the film, so Go For It!
