Man this is a really neat picture I'v never been to NY if i go will need to visit this area. now here I go your prob a pro but looking at this I would have framed the bridge just with the red bldgs and removed the spteet light, the cables blend with the cloudy sky maybe work them a bit to stand out seem like a important part of the bridge. and then maybe use levels on the bridge to also stand out from the clouds. I really believe you have a winner here

Congratulations. I love that fact that both the Manhattan Bridge, a lesser known landmark, and the Empire State Building, an iconic landmark, are part of this scene.

I took this photo in DUMBO, Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.Time
It was late morning on a cold drab day in mid-March when it was still winter in New York.Lighting
It was overcast, no sun, and to be honest, I was not sure how this photo would turn out. But, I also knew that some of the best photos are taken in light like this, and not with harsh light and shadows from the sun.Equipment
I am an amateur with no sophisticated equipment. The camera was a Nikon E7600; No flash was used nor was a tripod.Inspiration
I was born in Brooklyn and left when I was 22. This was an area I had never visited when I lived there, but times have really changed in Brooklyn. When I crossed the street and looked to my left, there it was. The bridge, not as photographed as the Brooklyn Bridge, was very imposing. I saw the Empire State Building in the misty, foggy center, and knew this was a photo I had to take.Editing
I do minimal post-processing and this one had very little since the photo, in my opinion, spoke for itself.In my camera bag
Not much as an amateur. I do carry a small tripod, a couple of lenses, but that' about it. I good eye is more important than the equipment.Feedback
I look for the unusual even if the subject is iconic and famous. I saw the Empire State Building and felt that the combination of the bridge and the building would be something different. I also try to compose the photo as best I can.
