Stunning, love the contrast of the water to the snow & the buildings & tree that frame the image.

Location
This was taken in the little German town of Leavenworth, Washington. An adorable little mountain town that is an awesome winter and summer destination.Time
This photo was taken in the afternoon. We were driving around looking for something, I forget what, but I had to make my husband turn around and drop me off. The kids were complaining and since there was not really a side of the road he had to drive down the road and find a place to park and wait for me to wave him back.Lighting
I am not a big fan of mid day lighting but I knew this would be a keeper. It helped that it was a little overcast.Equipment
I used my Canon 50D with a Tamron 28-300 lens. I never use flash and I am was to unprepared to use a tripod.Inspiration
Leavenworth is such an adorable place with German style chalets everywhere. When we were driving down the road I could feel that little tingle of excitement for an amazing photo. The contrast of the wood against the beautiful white snow.Editing
When I edit my photos I stick to iPhoto. For this one I just added a little contrast and blurred the edges. In my camera bag
My camera bag has my Canon 50D with a 28-50 Tamron, which is great for senior photos. A canon powershot for light weight option. An extra fully charged battery, a piece of chalk, chapstick and low blood sugar supplies!Feedback
If you are trying to capture something similar use that artistic eye, when there right shot comes along don't pass it up. This might take some convincing if you are not the driver. For this one I took several shots but I love the bush in the forefront because it draws your eye in, the hazy mountain fog and the tiny contrast of the red tractor.
