Location
This photo was taken on my way to work one day. At the time, (new job, new drive) my entire drive to work took me through beautiful, heavily wooded areas.Time
This shot was taken around 8am or so.Lighting
It was very cold and gloomy that day so I was actually kind of surprised that it came out so well. Beautiful things can come out of the dark and gloomy though.Equipment
I actually took this photo with my phone. A Samsung Galaxy S4. No flash or anything. I just stopped my car, got out and took the photo.Inspiration
I feel like everything I see has the potential to be a great photo. I saw this shot in my head day after day, making this drive to work and I finally made it a point to stop and take the picture. I really didn't know how it would come out, being that it was so gloomy and I was using my phone but, I couldn't go another day with out taking a shot. I never had my camera with me while going to work so I had to use what was available. My phone. Some of what I feel is my best work, has been taken with my phone.Editing
I'm not into using a lot of tricks and things. I like things the way they look naturally. Not that I'm opposed to all the tricks and things, I'm not at all. I'm just not particularly great at those things. I'm basically someone who shoots and hopes for the best. However, I do use Photoshop and I do mess around with all the bells and whistles on shots I know have no chance of being fixed and some of them come out awesome looking. Hahaha. Those photos that do come out well, I just enhance the color and make it more vibrant for the most part. I edit out the occasional road sign or things of that nature. In my camera bag
I shoot with a Nikon D5100. I have my 18-55mm lens on and my 70-300mm in my bag whe needed. I also just added a Nikon Sunpak Digiflash to my bag, that i am learning to work with. I started out with a Nikon D60. I also have a Canon Rebel that was my Dad's, that was given to me when he died.Feedback
Honestly, the only advice I have for others is, just shoot what you like and have the best time doing it.
