This was shot with a Canon 5DmkII and a 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 40mm. Strobe was an AlienBee 800.Inspiration
This is part of a series I started several years ago and I shoot with every model I work with. The concept is them in jeans up against the concrete wall.Editing
This photo has extensive post-processing. I actually have video that shows the retouching steps I did on this photo on my website http://craigcolvinphotography.com/od00 Here is a summary of the steps I did in Photoshop. Retouch blemishes Smooth skin using Portraiture plug Brighten the eyes Dodge/Burn Brighten the model and darken the background using curves Add contrast using Tonal Contrast filter in Nik Color Effects Pro Add a vignetteIn my camera bag
Canon 5DmkII, Canon 17-40mm F/4L, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, Canon 580 strobe, 4 pocket wizards, intervalometer, CamRanger, lots of memory cards, batteries, and business cards.Feedback
There are many elements that make this image special, the lighting is important, having a professional model who knows how to pose helps tremendously, but what really makes this image is the post-processing work. It took it from a OK image to what you see here. There are tons of resources for learning glamour retouching. Learn all you can.
