Behind The Lens

Location

I photographed this in my apartment.

Time

The photo was taken 45 years ago on film so I don’t have that information.

Lighting

Only a small candle and a round ceiling light visible in the picture were used as lighting.

Equipment

The original photo was taken with a Minolta XE5 camera on diapositive film , but I recently copied it with an Olympus E-3 camera and a Zuiko Digital 50mm macro lens. In addition to this lens, I used a hand-made (DIY - myself) lens extension with a slide holder. Also tripod was used.

Inspiration

I got my inspiration by thinking of the novel "Gri?ka Vještica" (Wich from the Gric) by the famous Croatian writer Marija Juri? Zagorka. Gri? is the oldest part of old Zagreb capitol of Croatia.

Editing

The slide itself was very good and on the copy I had to do only small adjustments of exposure, noise in the image and contrast as well as some sharpening.

In my camera bag

When I go on foot I wear Olympus E-3 and Zoom lenses f: 2.8-4, 12-60mm and f: 2.8-3.5, 50-200mm. When I go with the car I also take the Olympus E-520, f: 2 50 mm macro, teleconverter 2x, sometimes I want to shoot with an old OM reflective (mirror) f: 8 500 mm lens. I rarely use the flash and tripod, mostly at home.

Feedback

First you need an idea and a little imagination. If a model is also present, set the scene with the help of the necessary props, set the lighting and try to take the best photo according to your opinion and feeling.
