What an absolutely fabulous shot.
Aside from the obvious wall to wall burst of color and spot on depth of field, what makes this for me is that you made sure the lens is perfectly horizontal to your frame. If it had been off even slightly, the shot would have lost its impact.
Wonderful work :-)

Location
This photo was taken when I first visited Mayfield Lavender Farm in South London, a friend of a friend on Facebook upload some images of the farm and was surprised to learn such a place could exist in London, so my first available weekend I took myself down there.Time
I'd been at the Lavender Farm most of the day having arrived late morning and by the time I took this shot it was getting quite late and the sun was starting to get low in the sky, having said that, the time of year was mid to late summer just before the Lavender harvest.Lighting
I must have filled two memory cards by the time this shot presented itself and the light was absolutely perfect for a summer's evening. I was heading slowly out of the lavender field when I spotted this young lady setting herself up for some shots. Her position in the lavender look great, she was totally surrounded by lavender and the warm light looked perfect on her. So, I couldn't resist taking some shots of her, she was completely unaware I was photographing her at the time, however, when I finished shooting, I introduced myself to her (Her name was Fiona) and explained that I'd taken some photos of her. I showed her the photos on the back of my camera and lucky for me she liked the shots, so I promised that I would send her a set, for which I did and we hooked up on social media and as it turned out, she too was a Viewbug member. I asked her permission to allow me to use the images on my various galleries online and she gave me full approval.Equipment
At the time I was using a Canon EOS 650D and a standard kit lens Canon EF-s 55-250mm.Inspiration
Really, when I arrived at Mayfield Lavender Farm, I just wanted to try and take great photos of Lavender, either landscape or close-up and the many opportunities to photograph insects and Bees, not once did I think I would include humans in my shoot that day. It just so happens that I was stood in the right place at the right time when Fiona decided to take some shots for herself and to see her in a sea of Lavender was inspiration enough and I am so glad that I did. I must say though if I do happen to capture people not known to me, I usually give them my card after and send them shots for their albums.Editing
I only shoot RAW, because if a shot is a bit flat and not contrasty (not sure if I just made that word up!) then you have the opportunity to pull some colour back from the original image, so I did with this shot to enhance the purple of the lavender and now it looks just like how I was viewing it that day without a camera in my face! I believe Fiona was happy with the shots as well.In my camera bag
A set of ND filters of varying strengths, wired and wireless remotes, CPL, 70-300mm, nifty fifty and 18-55mm.Feedback
If anyone is going to try this shot, I would say, try around an hour or so before sunset (Golden hour) and you will probably find that there are fewer people around compared to lunchtime and early afternoon. Be spontaneous, capture the moment. I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time and I have since replicated this shot with friends and it's worked out well.
