Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot at Goldenview farm's in Pennsylvania.

Time

This was an indoor shoot with lots of sunlight coming in. Not sure, exactly, of the time.

Lighting

This was, simply, a speedlight behind Valeda(my subject) and aimed at her for silhouette photos.

Equipment

I believe I still had my Canon 7D at the time. And I used a Canon 580EX II for light. I think I had my Canon 70-200 L4

Inspiration

I was working on silhouette photos when I saw a few shots of hot breathe crossing into the light. I saw a hint of a rainbow being refracted, which got me excited to try and capture this shot!

Editing

Just a little boost to color saturation and that was it. The spectrum really popped on camera!

In my camera bag

Normally, now, I pack my Canon 6D. I've since retired my 7D. Canon 135mm f/2.0 Canon 70-200my L4 Canon 50mm f/1.8 Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8 Canon 580EX II speedlight

Feedback

Don't be afraid to be creative! I didn't expect that our shoot would turn in this direction, but a nice happy-accident that showed me the colors turned my focus and we got this great photograph.
