I tried to use the most simple of lighting techniques, a 20 inch beauty dish mounted high in front of the model with a honeycomb grid to soften the light. I also placed a second light behind and to the right to make her pop.Equipment

About 5 months ago, i challenged the fans on my facebook page to choose a word at random and I would create a shoot for a model around that word. The word they chose was X ray. It took me a few months to find enough x rays and then we built a dress out of the cut up X rays. The headband was a last minute crazy idea to finish off the outfit (turned out to be pretty dangerous to make too;)) The model Jossie was doing a full length pose when I saw this awesome shot, so I just stepped in close to get this portrait.Editing
In post process I adjusted white balance to enhance the blues. I then de saturated the red tones in her skin to make it appear paler. I added the blue heart beat effect behind her.In my camera bag

My advice to anyone wanting to try this would be simple ... listen to your inner crazy person. That way you will try anything no matter how insane. You can always delete a pic that does not work, but you cannot show a pic that you never took!
