Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the shoreline of Orman Damn near Belle Fourche, SD.

Time

This photo was taken at the end of a great day on the lake. . . It was time for a cold beer and stories from the day.

Lighting

This was shot right after the sun dipped below the horizon. The light was so beautiful I'm not sure if you could take a bad photo at that moment.

Equipment

I shot this with a Nikon D90 with a Nikon DX 18-105 f/3.5

Inspiration

It was an amazing day with amazing friends followed by an amazing sunset. I was inspired by the people I was with.

Editing

Since this was a sunset with a sillouette it didn't need much post processing. In Photoshop I adjusted the levels, brightness and contrast, a little saturation, vignette and lastly sharpened.

In my camera bag

I don't have much for gear. I have my D90 with the 18-105. A 55-200 f/4. My speed light sb 910 with radio remote. Tripod and monopod.

Feedback

When capturing sillouettes I always try to under expose a little to make sure my blacks are black.
