Location
It was taken at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (O.A.C.A.).Time
I was at O.A.C.A. (in Spyros Louis Stadium) for a Conference, and happened to carry my camera with me, as I always do to be able to take pictures of my friends and acquaintances during such events when we are gathered together. At the midday break, I decided to take a walk and "inspect" the infrastructure, which intrigued me artistically from the start, so it was at about 14:00 o'clock.Lighting
It was a ver sunny day of the summer, so the light was harsh. I was an amateur photographer back then, so one of the very few things I thought I knew was that I needed this ample light to take some "clean" shots.Equipment
I only used my Nikon D3100 camera with its kit lenses, 18-50mm VR. I didn't use any tripod, because I didn't have one with me as most of the times, and, of course, I didn't think of using a flash because I only took landscape photos, during that stroll.Inspiration
Having seen it from afar, I was inspired by the curves of this specific work called "Agora", and I could not resist the temptation to cover the distance from the Stadium and go inside it in order to capture a glimpse of its wonderful design.Editing
I only did some minor post-processing work in Photoshop, including the use of sharpness & contrast tools, since I mistakenly used a wide aperture and very fast shutter speed (due to the lack of technical knowledge I had then), and it needed a touch-up.In my camera bag
I usually take my Nikon D5200 camera with two NIKORR lenses: a zoom lenses 18-140mm f3.6-5.8 VR and a prime lenses 35mm f1.8 for portraits, which, for better or worse, tend to use as an all-purpose lenses. I also take my Altura external flash with me, which I usually use for portraits.Feedback
Anyone with a little technical knowledge and great love for photography could take a picture like that. I just happenned to be in the right place the right time. The key is to always carry your camera bag with you and be eager to capture the beauty of forms (either human or architectural) you can discover in everyday places whenever and wherever they can be found!
