These are Sugar Pine Cones also know as (Pinus Lambertiana) these pine cones grow to be between 10-20 inches in length. And are only found in the high mountains ranges. We were at an elevation of 8,000 feet. What looks like a white sugar is a sticky sap that actually smells like maple syrup. :)
