Location
This was a senior portrait taken in one of the largest cemeteries in Ohio, called Springrove. It is also an arboretum and has beautiful water features as well. It was early autumn and the light was nice for shooting out of doors.Time
It was afternoon when we started, and ended up going over 2 hours. There was a male and this lovely girl to shoot, we had a blast!Lighting
We got lucky that the sunlight was hiding behind some good cover. Longer, afternoon sun, but still cloudy.Equipment
Nikon 3100, 18-55mm kit lens, free hand shooting, no tripod, no flashInspiration
Clearly this senior was easy to shoot, she was fun, beautiful and a fantastic subject! All senior pics should be so fun to take.Editing
This pic is actually not touched by software. In my camera bag
Zoom lenses, wide angle, extra batteries, cleaning supplies, multiple memory cards.Feedback
With portraits, it was key for me to get her to relax and stop looking at the camera. Most folks want to look right at you, behind the lens, and this is usually the last thing I want to capture. I like the more candid shots! I think a lot of things can be said with a photo, when you don't see eye to eye with the subject, let your imagination fill in the spaces between us!
