Wow How fabulous that you got her on the run and managed to capture the moment of all that incredible fur flying every where, so focused and sharp!
Love that tongue hanging out! Both are beautiful pups!

This photo was taken in the very late afternoon on a beautiful Vermont spring day. As a result, the sun was low in the western sky, full of radiant evening colors and so provided some beautiful soft diffused light across the front of Carabella and along her left side.Equipment
This photo was taken using a Pentax K5 camera, using a SMC Pentax 50mm F/1.7 lens, at an aperture of F/4, with a shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second with an ISO of 640. Image was shot hand held.Inspiration
My Shelties, Carabella and Oso, are two of my most prolific subjects. They have a favorite game we play with a ball, and Carabella enjoys this game tremendously. As she and Oso ran to return the ball to me, I made an attempt to capture her unmitigated joy. Most interesting to me, is that as she ran along, with her tongue flaying out the side of her mouth, she was also barking as she ran. Somehow, she was able to get her tongue into her mouth between barks, without biting her tongue off as she ran!Editing
I did some contrast adjustment in Photoshop, and used Silver Efex Pro 2 to convert to a monochrome image. In my camera bag
I shoot with a Pentax K5 and a K3 camera, with a rather large collection of some old classic Pentax glass. I usually carry way too much stuff with me, but I always carry my DA*16-50 f/2.8, DA*50-135mm F/2.8, DFA 100mm f/2.8 WR macro, some Kenko and Jessops extension tubes, and my F 50mm F/1.7.Feedback
Capturing a moving object is always difficult. Throwing the ball and then trying to get into position to get a good shot of the dogs returning can be a challenge as well, so my experience juggling helps with that! For this image, I focused on an area in front of her and waited for Carabella to "arrive" at the focus point. Then I pressed the shutter!
