Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photo from one of my mother's flower beds. Daffodils are also her favorite flowers, and allow for some wonderful vibrant photo ops

Time

This was early afternoon on a fine spring day.

Lighting

Sunlight is a wonderful tool

Equipment

Shot on with my Sony Alpha, using the Macro settings with my 18/75mm lens

Inspiration

Bright sunny days, particularly after a long winter, are worth celebrating. Getting behind the camera is a great excuse to enjoy the break in cold weather.

Editing

There was some cropping from the original shot. I also adjusted the contrast a bit to fill the yellow.

In my camera bag

Not much, mostly the Sony Alpha. I have a 18/75 mm lens and a 50/200 mm lens. Outside those, there isn't much depth to my photo bag.

Feedback

I would certainly suggest having a tripod. This was shot crouching down and a bit unsteady, which makes controlling focus trickier.
