This Photo was taken at my house off my blacktop driveway as I was returning home from work.Time
This photo was taken Sep 22 of 2014 around 3pmLighting
I think the lighting really made this photo what it is. The sun was lower in the sky at this time and was coming in from behind the Butterfly which helped illuminate its wings and create a nice outline. It also had been raining just before I took the photo so the light reflecting off the wet driveway helped create the beautiful bokeh. If this would have been around noon I don't think this photo would of been as appealing:)Equipment
This was shot with my Sony A99V with a Sony 70-400mm Lens. Shot at 400mm / f7.1 / 1/125s ISO400 This was handheld no tripod or flash and no filter.Inspiration
Pulling into my driveway and seeing the Butterfly sitting there with the great light from behind made me run into the house for my camera. Hoping it would be there when I returned:)Editing
Yes I use Lightroom for all my post work. I didn't have to do a lot to this just some basic sharpening, saturation, clarity and slider work.In my camera bag
Sony A99v, Sony 70-400mm, Minolta 100mm macro, Sony Zeiss 85mm, And a Tamron 24-70 2.8. Manfrotto 190 TripodFeedback
This photo had a lot to do with the light that's the first thing I noticed before taking the shot so take into consideration the lighting and the position of the sun behind your subject. Also consider the angle you take the shot, this was taken laying flat on the ground creating a nice POV and bokeh also supporting my 400mm lens. Timing and some luck also helps:)
